DESCRIPTION

Alpinia belongs to the ginger family, is rhizomatous and its variegation has very variable patterns. Ideal for adding a touch of colour to any corner of your home. Also known as porcelain lily. It is native to Asia.

Scientific name: Alpinia zerumbet "variegata"

CAREFUL

Temperature: temperate temperatures between 18-25 °C and high ambient humidity. It is recommended to avoid placing them in areas with cold draughts.

Light: It can be used as a houseplant, ideal for very luminous areas, with indirect and abundant light, but it adapts to partial light or shade. Direct sunlight can cause the leaves to burn.

Watering: moderate watering. Ideally allow the substrate to dry out a little between waterings.

Fertilizer: Apply a dose of ideal fertilizer for green plants / houseplants diluted in the irrigation water once every 2-3 weeks during spring-summer.

Transplanting: Every 1 or 2 years, when the roots have exhausted the available space. Rthey require light and aerated substrates, such as substrate for green plants, quality universal substrate or a mixture of substrate with perlite.
